What stays on your device
Everything you type into the builder: your name, contact details, work history, education, skills, settings and, if you buy it, your Pro licence key. It is saved in your browser’s local storage so the page can restore it next time on the same device and browser, and in any backup or PDF you download. No copy is sent to us.
What we store
Nothing about you or your CV. There are no accounts, no database of CVs and no server that receives what you type. If you clear your browser data, the CV is gone, which is why the builder offers a backup file.
What travels over the network
- The pages, styles, scripts and fonts needed to show the site. Fonts come from Google Fonts, which sees your IP address like any web host does.
- If you unlock Pro, the licence key you paste (only the key) goes to a small relay we run on Cloudflare, which asks Payhip whether the key is valid and passes the yes or no back. The relay keeps no records.
- If you export to Word, the open-source “docx” library is fetched from a public CDN the first time. Your CV is built into the file on your device.
Payments
The Pro pack is sold through Payhip, a merchant of record. Payhip collects your payment details and email address, charges the card, handles tax, sends your licence key and keeps the receipt. We never see your card number. Payhip’s privacy policy governs what they hold.
Advertising
The guides and examples pages show Google AdSense adverts, which may use cookies as described in Google’s policies and your consent choices. There are no adverts on the builder, the preview or the download screens.
Analytics
We see page-view counts from our hosting provider. Nothing you type into the builder is ever part of an analytics event.
Your responsibility
Check every detail before sending a CV. Keep a backup file if the CV matters to you. Sharing a PDF is, of course, your choice.
