Most CVs list duties: what the job was. Strong CVs list achievements: what you did with it. An achievement shows the difference you made, so an employer can picture you doing the same for them.
The formula
Action verb + what you did + the result, with a number. If you cannot measure the result, say who benefited and how.
Duty to achievement
- Duty: Responsible for the till. Achievement: Handled R40 000 a day on the till with zero variances in six months.
- Duty: Answered customer queries. Achievement: Resolved about 60 queries a day and kept a 92% satisfaction score.
- Duty: Did the monthly reports. Achievement: Automated the monthly report, saving the team a day of work each month.

Builder tip: Aim for three to five bullet points per role, with your most impressive result first. The builder shows them as clean bullets on every template.
Avoid: invented or inflated numbers. A good estimate (“about 60 a day”) is fine; a number you cannot explain in an interview is not.
